Building the future power workforce takes more than recruitment. It requires strong, intentional connections between industry, students and education partners and that is where the API plays a key role.
Through our national programs and partnerships, API connects employers with a highly engaged pipeline of emerging talent.
A core initiative is the Power Pipeline student jobs list, distributed twice a year to API members. This list features students who have opted in through the Power Up Program and are actively seeking opportunities in the sector. Each profile includes key details such as degree, university, year level and location, making it easy for employers to identify and connect with suitable candidates for internships, vacation work and graduate roles. Importantly, these students are already engaged in API activities, meaning they are informed, motivated and genuinely interested in careers in power.

We also support recruitment by promoting graduate and vacation opportunities directly to our national student community. Through targeted communications, social media and program touchpoints, we help ensure your roles reach the right audience at the right time.
Our strong relationships with universities, academic contacts, and student clubs and societies allow us to engage students early in their journey. Combined with API programs such as Power Up, Inside Industry webinars, Industry Connect events, the Video Challenge and Summer School, students gain valuable industry exposure, build networks and develop the skills needed to transition into the workforce with confidence.

This early engagement not only supports better recruitment outcomes, it helps build a more prepared and connected future workforce for the sector.
