Applications Now Open: TJ Effeney Award 2025 - Attend the CIGRE Australia Conference in Adelaide Fully Funded

The Australian Power Institute (API) is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 TJ Effeney Award. This prestigious award offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate students passionate about the power sector to attend the CIGRE Australia Conference in Adelaide from September 2–3, 2025, fully funded!

🏆 About the TJ Effeney Award 

Established in honour of the late Terry Effeney, a revered figure in the Australian energy industry, the TJ Effeney Award aims to support the professional development of high-performing students. The award is a collaboration between the Effeney Family, Energy Queensland, and the API.

It provides recipients with the chance to:

• Develop technical knowledge in the power sector 

• Expand professional networks 

• Engage in community initiatives

The 2025 award will bring together a national group of 15–20 students to attend the two-day CIGRE Conference, participate in a site visit with an API member organisation, and engage in afternoon social events and activities with the API.

🎓 Who Can Apply? 

The TJ Effeney Award is open to: 

• Current Power UP Scholarship holders 

• Registered members of the Power UP Community 

• Participants in the Powerful Women in STEM program 

• Undergraduate students studying power sector-related degrees, including electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or power industry-related disciplines(api.edu.au)
