API Graduating Students of 2021 and the Bursary Students on Placement 2021/2022
Congratulations to the 14 API Bursary Program Graduating students in 2021.
The API trusts that the bursary program provided the students with countless opportunities for broadening their undergraduate experience, by giving them a valuable insight into the diverse arena of power engineering, and by exposing them to a number of potential future employers. The API hopes that the program had a positive impact on their personal and professional development and was helpful in forming their future career networks.
The API wish the graduating students of 2021 an exciting and fulfilling career in their chosen area of power engineering and related fields.
The API is also pleased to announce that 34 Bursary Holder students were placed on vacation placement within its industry member organisations in 2021/22.
The API believes that industry placements are a key part of developing a students’ technical knowledge and developing their career plan and aims to help facilitate a strong professional relationship between the bursary student and industry members.
Following their vacation placement, students are required to submit a Learning Journal, record and submit a 3–5-minute video to present and share their working experience at the online API Student in Power (SIP) Summit, and to complete a one-on-one 15–30-minute career mentoring session with their manager, senior lead or mentor.
The API trusts that the students will gain valuable engineering work experience and enhance their understanding of the power industry.
