Project Summary

During my time at the Aurecon, I have learnt so much it’s hard to summarise into one paragraph! In particular, I’ve been working in the BESS (Battery and Energy Storage Systems) team within Power Generation, working predominantly on battery projects. Our aim in this space is ultimately to support the renewable energy engineering transition here in Australia, by providing the necessary grid-scale storage to back-up fluctuating renewable energy generation. While doing this, we also want to ensure we are designing these battery and storage systems in a way that makes sense from a commercial perspective for our clients. My work in the BESS team has involved a whole range of different skills, as I have been able to take part in many different aspects of project work including developing client proposals, design work, and working on project documentation. Finally, I have learnt a lot about the principles of sustainable design, which forms a central pillar of all work done at Aurecon.
