Who am I
I'm Trevor, a final-year Sustainable Systems Engineering student at RMIT. Ive always been passionate about learning about the climate crisis and environmental issues in Australia. I've always wanted a career where I could make a real-world impact, and I found that the power industry was a way to achieve this while also being a blend of my interests and skills.
Why I chose a career in power
The sheer societal impact of the power grid on our daily lives, combined with its incredibly intricate and complex nature, is what draws me in. It makes me eager to contribute to its design. Additionally, meeting the amazing people who work in this industry every day has made it an easy career choice for me.
Where it all started
The amount of 'new stuff' that is being done everyday to ensure the energy transition is possible. Seeing so many people united in working toward the same decarbonization goal is truly exciting.
My work experience.
What's next?
I worked as a barista at my local caf for six years before starting as an intern engineer at AEMO in a Victorian planning team. For my final year of study, I am continuing my internship with AEMO part-time.
