The power sector presents a combination of technical challenge and the ability to make a real-life practical difference to our society at an important time.
Who am I
I have a strong interest in the power sector, and love the technical background of transmission and generation. It is most definitely an important and relevant industry in today's world, and hence presents the opportunity to make a real-life difference. I enjoy playing sports outside of work and university, and reading.
Why I chose a career in power
The transfer from synchronous machines to inverter based resources is of course an exciting phenomenon, and presents interesting areas for research, development and change. I also appreciate the depth of knowledge that people I have worked with have, and it excites me knowing that I can learn from not just reading, or research, but also from the people I work with.
Where it all started
My interest began in school physics, learning about electromagnetism and how it is used in generators - this was definitely a spark and began an interest in the power sector.

What's next?
I have worked at ElectraNet in the network connections team, and learnt a lot about softwares and the network in general; I developed key skills, and learnt form all my colleagues. I also have a lot of experience in the tutoring industry, both private and at a company, which allowed me to develop my communication skills to be able to explain often complicated concepts in simple language.
