Who am I
My name is Luvha, and I studied a Masters in Professional Engineering (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) from UWA. I recently moved to Sydney and am currently an Electrical Engineering graduate at Transgrid. After finishing my studies, I've found myself picking up creative hobbies such as crocheting and sewing. I love having a tangible final piece to appreciate at the end of the crafting process!
Why I chose a career in power
I’m choosing a career in the power industry because it’s a field that’s not only growing rapidly but also driving meaningful change. Right now, the industry is at the forefront of innovation, with advancements in inverter based resources, smart grid technologies, and a focus on environmental stewardship shaping the future. I'm really excited about the fact that these developments aren’t just theoretical - they’re transforming the way we live, work, and interact with the world around us. The shift towards increased renewable penetration in our grids isn't just about reducing emissions but also about creating a more resilient and equitable energy systems for future generations. There is so much to be done and so little time!
Where it all started
The power industry is in such an exciting phase right now with it growing and innovating so rapidly. Being part of it feels really special because it’s one of those fields where I feel like i can actually make a difference, not just for our community but for the country as a whole. What really excites me is the chance to work on things that directly impact the lives of everyday Australians, helping to improve and sustain their quality of life now and for future generations. I think it’s rare to find a field that combines this level of growth, innovation, and real-world impact, and that’s what makes it such a meaningful space to be part of!
