Who am I
I work as Project engineer in AGL Energy in Commercial and Industrial solar projects. I completed undergrad at CEG, Anna University (Chennai, India) and started my career as an Engineer in a construction firm L&T -designing LV distribution systems for power plants and managing key subcontractors. I moved to Australia in 2015 and resumed my career in renewables in 2017. Apart from engineering, I have experience working in sales, presales engineering, supplier and vendor liaison, and engineering management within renewable energy industry. I also recently completed a Statement of Attainment in Mental Health and try to have wellbeing conversation with my colleagues in this difficult climate. In my free time, I solve puzzles, enjoy movies/ TV shows, have fun with my toddler and travel as much as we can as a family.
Why I chose a career in power
My dad was a mechanical engineer designing Power plants in India when I was growing up and I am greatly influenced by his involvement and interest in engineering challenges. He often shared about his work on these projects over dinner and car trips. I interned at one of the biggest thermal power stations in our state after school at which point realised that it was something I would like to pursue as a career. In addition, I was interested in maths and physics in high school which is also one of the reasons I believed in my ability to handle an intensive program like Electrical engineering.

I completed a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at CEG, Anna University (Chennai, India). Started my career as an Engineer in a construction firm L&T -designing LV distribution systems for power plants and managing key subcontractors.
