Who am I

I began as an Electrical Apprentice with Transgrid at the age of 16 in 2014 based in Newcastle. Following completion of my apprenticeship in 2016 I moved into work scheduling and more recently I am in Leadership and Management. I am currently employed as the Apprentice Lead at Transgrid with a team of 34 apprentices across all of NSW and ensure that they are fully utilised, receiving correct training and maintain their wellbeing. I have completed 3 x Advanced Diplomas including Leadership and Management, Business and Management.

Why I chose a career in power

I enjoy leading teams and managing team. I believe in attracting great talent and ensure that the talent is lead in a way that they wish to be retained at the company. Coming from being an apprentice myself - I can relate to what type of leader I wanted and the training and support that I wish I had throughout my Apprenticeship. Although being quite young (25) can make it draining at some points - as some of the apprentices are older than I am, so having the strength and confidence to lead is a benefit.
