Who am I
Hi my name is Jennifer and I'm a final year student at UNSW studying a double degree in electrical engineering and computer science. In my free time I enjoy playing board games and recently have been getting into bushwalking.
Why I chose a career in power
The power industry is everywhere around us, most of the products we consume everyday is manufactured using energy. The industry offers a diverse range of career opportunities and in choosing this industry I can make an impact on the community around me, allowing me to tackle real world problems.
Where it all started

My work experience.
What's next?
I have completed two placements with Ausgrid in the Subtransmission and Planning Team under Asset Management where I worked on both technical and soft skills. I have also worked as a data science intern at Woodside energy where I was able to see a different side of the resources industry. Lastly I have experience working as a lab demonstrator for the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW for courses in electromagnetism and electrical energy. I think the increased trend of renewables will pose an interesting challenge for the power industry in the next years. There will be plenty of things to learn about the impact of intermittent renewable generation and storage and I'm excited to play a part in tackling the problem.
