The power industry is very broad and there are lots of opportunities within it - staying curious about and up to date with developments in the industry helps to figure out where you would most like to be.
Who am I
Australia's Net Zero commitments make this a particularly interesting time to be entering the power industry as an electrical engineer. I am excited by the scale, pace and complexity of the required infrastructure developments, and the unique technical challenges the industry will face in delivering them. There are already lots of interesting things going on in the space and I look forward to being more involved.
Why I chose a career in power
There are a range of interesting things about the power industry. I enjoy learning about the policy developments, social considerations and and unique commercial mechanics involved in the industry, as much as I enjoy learning the technical frameworks used by engineers.

What's next?
I currently work at Aurecon as a student electrical engineer. Prior to that, I worked a range of jobs including in as a retail assistant in a pet shop, bartender in a wine bar, a netball coach, an English tutor, a simulated patient actor and an educational resource developer. In the last year I have also participated in two research internships at the University of Sydney
