Workplace

You would be amazed about the sheer variety of jobs that are available in the power industry. If you are looking to get involved, see what opportunities and companies are out there. Remember, opportunities do not always present themselves in the ways you expect.

Who am I

For as long as I can remember, I have been curious about the way things work and passionate about building things. Towards the end of high school, I developed an interest in climate change, specifically in renewable energy and how the integration of such resources can lower global emissions. Fast forward to today and I am pursuing this interest and my passions by studying electrical engineering and computer science at The University of Adelaide. Outside of my career aspirations, I enjoy playing basketball and travelling to different parts of the world.

Why I chose a career in power

With the power industry undergoing some of the most significant changes since its inception over a century ago, could there be a better time to be involved? The power system is one of the most complex systems in the world. The problems that it faces require intuitive solutions. Being a part of the power industry means that I can help solve some of these problems and contribute towards a better future.

My work experience.
What's next?

I have experience working in the construction industry as a labourer, giving me a different perspective of the chain of work. I have also worked as a tutor and volunteer basketball coach. The power industry in Australia is at the forefront of innovation and developments around the world. This means I can contribute to problems that do not yet have solutions. Working in the power industry also means that I can drive past things and say, I helped build that.
