The power sector enables a country to achieve incredible feats, I want to enable Australia to achieve with a system that considers the beautiful landscape we reside in.
Who am I
I am a curious and driven. I race for Australia in canoe slalom which gives me a unique perspective of the power in nature and that we can use it to our advantage. Competing on the highest level whilst studying full time allowed me to develop discipline and time management skills which have helped me in all aspects of life. Another passion of mine is to explore Australia, there is a wealth of natural beauty and a deep history of adapting to the environment and using the energy around you, from wind to water and everything between.
Why I chose a career in power
The power industry is rapidly evolving with lots of room to grow and innovate. I am excited to be part of the innovation and make a meaningful change on the way that we do things in Australia.
Where it all started
When I was 9 and 10 my family travelled Australia for 18 months in an expedition vehicle we built in our shed. It had 1kW of solar on the roof and 5kWh of battery storage, this taught me about harvesting energy from the environment for our use. It meant that we could have ice-cold zooper doopers while in the middle of the desert. From then I have noticed the energy all around me, in the water that I paddle on and in sun the powers my solar car.

What's next?
I currently work at Sunswift racing, a UNSW project which currently aims to build the worlds first road legal tri-brid, solar, battery, hydrogen fuel cell. I work on the solar array, we are making the modules with glass with a complex curve for the front sheet. I have had to develop a method to manufacture these modules with the resources available to us which has tested my innovation and problem solving skills.
Additionally, I have worked at EnergyCO gaining experience on the renewable energy transition and what is involved in delivering renewables in NSW.
