Who am I

I am a Senior Engineer at AEMO in the National Connections team where I assess generator connections in the National Electricity Market, with a focus in South Australia and Tasmania. I was previously at Jacobs working mostly in the area of transmission and distribution where I was designing substation protection and control systems. I graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and published a paper based on my final year research on optimisation of batteries with solar PV.

Why I chose a career in power

I chose to study engineering at university because I really enjoyed STEM subjects in high school so I thought engineering would align with my interests and strengths. My first year of engineering had no specific major and I explored various types of engineering including civil, mechanical, electrical and software. Going into my second year of university, I chose to major in electrical engineering because I wanted to enter the power industry and work with renewable energy technologies.

Where it all started

What's next?

I undertook student placement at Energex (part of Energy Queensland). I was previously at Jacobs working mostly in the area of transmission and distribution where I was designing substation protection and control systems.
