Workplace

My advice for anyone pursuing a career in the power or energy industry is to stay curious and never stop learning. The industry is rapidly changing, especially with the integration of renewable energy and smart technologies, so being adaptable and open to new ideas is key. I'd also recommend gaining as much practical experience as possible, whether through internships, projects, or hands-on learning, to build a strong technical foundation. Lastly, don't be afraid to network and seek guidance from industry professionals mentorship and connections can be incredibly valuable.

Who am I

I'm an electrical engineering student on my final year with a passion for renewable energy and sustainability. I'm driven by the idea of working on projects that contribute to cleaner and more efficient energy solutions. My background has provided me with a strong technical foundation, and now I'm eager to apply those skills to meaningful work in the power industry. I'm also committed to continuous learning and professional growth as I step into this field.

Why I chose a career in power

The power industry is at the forefront of addressing some of the most critical challenges of our time, especially with the global transition toward renewable energy. I see this industry as an essential player in the move to reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency. I’m choosing a career in the power industry because I want to be part of that solution, contributing to a more sustainable future while working on innovative and impactful projects.

Where it all started

The power industry is constantly evolving, and what excites me most is the innovation happening in renewable energy, smart grids, and energy storage. The opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that are shaping the future of energy is something I’m incredibly passionate about. I’m also excited about the chance to contribute to projects that directly impact communities, whether it’s improving energy access or helping to reduce carbon footprints.

My work experience.
What's next?

In addition to my academic background, I've had experience working in various roles that have enhanced my technical, analytical, and communication skills. I've worked on design projects related to electrical systems, and in non-power specific roles, I've gained valuable experience in teamwork, project management, and problem-solving. These roles have all contributed to my ability to approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset. I'm currently seeking graduate employment in the power industry. I'm actively looking for opportunities where I can apply my skills and knowledge in renewable energy and power systems to contribute to impactful projects.
