Workplace

The power industry is one of the most diverse fields out there, offering a wide range of career paths. Don't be afraid to explore different areas within power even if it feels daunting at first. There's so much to learn, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow.

Who am I

My name is Anshdeep, and Im someone who finds curiosity in the fascinatingwhich is why I chose a career in power!

Why I chose a career in power

I want to be part of the transition to net zero by applying my passion for mathematics and engineering to meaningful, real-world challenges.

Where it all started

The power industry is evolving rapidly, bringing new challenges and opportunities as we progress toward a net-zero future. I’m particularly excited about the cutting-edge technologies being developed to tackle these challenges and accelerate the renewable energy transition—especially firming technologies like Grid-Forming Battery Energy Storage Systems.

My work experience.
What's next?

I'm currently working as a power engineer at AEMO. Previously, I worked as an undergraduate engineer at Powerlink and as a high-school and undergraduate tutor. I'm currently employed in the power industry as an undergraduate engineer at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), working part-time while completing my final year of studies.
