"There is value in every industry from diversity of thought and one way to bring diversity is employ more women in the workforce. Women bring different values, perspectives and approaches to solve the problems of today and into the future."

Who am I

I grew up on the suburban outskirts of Sydney, enjoying being outside, playing in the bush, and building and designing 'things'.

Why I chose a career in power

If you love maths and knowing that it has purpose and use in the real world, solving real problems and benefitting the community, then you'll love engineering. It's very rewarding to see ideas come into reality, and in the power industry there is so much rapid change and learning, you are never bored.

Where it all started

Due to a love of mathematics, physics and design at school, my careers advisor suggested many times to study engineering at university, and, in the end, after attaining a cadetship with Ausgrid, I thought, why not give it a go and see if I like it... and I did!

My work experience.
What's next?

It excites me that the power industry has the potential to be at the forefront of working towards a better outcome for the environment. I want to be involved in making a better world for my kids. Electricity is used by everyone, so your job influences everyone.
