"I find the power industry exciting because it is rapidly changing due to the uptake of renewable energy and new technologies such as electric vehicles. Due to these changes, the power industry is generating a lot of new innovations, making it an exciting industry to work in."
Who am I
I am an electrical engineering and physics student in my final year of study with a passion for the power industry. My first electrical power units at university sparked my interest in the field, and ever since then it has become a goal of mine to work in the industry. Alongside my studies I gained experience as a programmer for a software company where I gained programming and teamwork skills.
Why I chose a career in power
Power has become an invaluable resource in modern society and I am excited to improve the way that this important resource is distributed. I embrace the challenge of moving towards more sustainable energy sources and am looking forward to being part of the solution.
Where it all started
Completed a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering with Honours from University of Tasmania
My work experience.
What's next?
While the API bursary has allowed me to participate in some amazing opportunities, my favourite was going to the substation for the Gordon Dam. I am always awed by the scale of the sites I had the privilege of visiting and learnt so much from being able to apply my knowledge in the workplace.
