Edwina (Eddy) Knevett

Graduate Electrical Engineer

WHY CHOOSE YOUR DEGREE?

In Year 12, I enjoyed the subjects of maths and science. But, I also enjoyed being creative and having the opportunity to design things. So I thought pursuing engieering was the perfect way to blend these two concepts into an interesting and rewarding career. I also knew that engineers had the opportunity to contribute to a variety of issues that society is facing, and I wanted to be a part of that.

WHO IS SHE:

As a first year graduate, I am about to enter Tassie's power industry as part of TasNetworks Network Performance team, and I am looking forward to enhancing my knowledge of the power sector. I have also done a humanitarian engineering placement with Engineers Without Borders in Cambodia, as well as another placement with Sense-T (a telemetry / mechatronic engineering organisation). Throughout university, I was also actively engaged as a member of the UTAS STEM Outreach team, as I am passionate about encouraging the next generation of students, particularly girls, to pursue a career in STEM.
